Ex-NFP Advisor Services Rep Robert J Regan Suspended for Improper Private Securities Transactions

Attorney Advising Disclaimer

After FINRA fined and suspended former NFP Advisor Services, LLC (Danville, CA) broker Robert Joseph Regan for selling unapproved private securities, the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) Board of Standards issued Regan a suspension of its own.

In 2016, FINRA sanctioned Regan (CRD #2322096) for soliciting customers to invest $350,000 in an outside investment without providing the firm prior written notice, while the CFP Board agreed to a suspension in April 2017. Investigators wrote that although Regan initially and verbally requested permission from NFP to refer customers to an outside investment, his participation in the transactions "went beyond the limited scope permitted by NFP."

Regan's BrokerCheck report indicates a settled complaint alleging that Regan misled a client regarding alternative investments.

Regan's file lists insurance sales as an additional business activity, with Regan Financial Group LLC, located in Danville, California, succeeding Regan's 2016 departure from NFP Advisor Services.

If you have invested with Rob Joseph Regan or with any broker or financial adviser whose sales conducted outside the scope of employment with a FINRA-member firm have proven harmful to your investments or interests, please call The Law Offices of Jonathan W. Evans & Associates at (800) 699-1881 for an investigation and consultation.
